I'VE mentioned this before in the last couple of months but the latest round of FA Cup has triggered another topic discussion.
All you read is that the FA Cup has lost its magic, it’s not on this channel or that channel and clubs don’t rate the competition with the prestige as they should.
Add to this the new ruling where players can play for different teams in the competition so is it any wonder? Last round Marc Guehi scored for Man City and this after back in January his Crystal Palace side were humbled at Step 2 Macclesfield.
How can this be right?
He’d already played in the world's greatest cup competition and was dumped out in the third round. Yet now he can claim a potential winners medal with another club.
It’s not the players fault of course, he doesn’t make the rules, but you have to feel for all those non-league clubs who lost out on potential lucrative cash prizes in the FA Cup due to an administration error similar to this new ruling.
The magic of the cup is clear for all to see, well, from August to January at least!

ONE of my favourite films is the Wizard of Oz. I’ve watched it hundreds of times. If only Leiston could have a Dorothy.
It’s been a difficult time walking up Victory Road in recent weeks to see the Blues, as the home form hasn't been as good as their away form. Hopefully we'll finish strong at the Flannery Stadium.
But in the last seven days a dominant display brought only a point against Bromsgrove and then in midweek we limped out of the cup to our fiercest rivals.
If only someone could click their red shoes heels or red footy boot heels and say ‘there’s no place like home’. We can then start enjoy seeing a big W rather than the recent L’s or D’s!
Still, AFC Sudbury this weekend and not too far a trip for Tick Tock and me. We'll grab a swift half at our favourite Sudbury pub pre-match, maybe enjoy sausage and chips at our favourite Sudbury chippy, and then hope for another good away day, with that big 'W'!
And be back in time for a bit of karaoke in Leiston.
