Neil Smye’s side put up a good effort against Holbeach United on Saturday afternoon but unfortunately went down to a 2-1.

The away side took the lead on 33 minutes when Denis Coehlo finished from close range.

But the Blues levelled when Ollie Griggs struck home after a shot had been blocked on 43 minutes.

Early in the second period, away captain Luke Nicholson capitalised on an error at the back from Leiston to fire into an empty net.

Leiston rallied but couldn’t find a late equaliser.

They have a big week coming up, starting with a home game against Needham Market Reserves on Tuesday night.
