The Blues start their defence tomorrow evening of the Suffolk Premier Cup against Woodbridge Town, a competition they have won for the last two seasons.

Leiston have had a good record in recent years and have reached at least the semi-finals in the last eight seasons. The last time the Blues lost at this stage (Last 16) was in October 2010 when they went down 2-0 at home to Lowestoft Town.

Leiston lost their first ever match in the competition to AFC Sudbury in the 2004/2005 season, but they reached the final a season later to lose 3-2 to Lowestoft Town after extra time. They reached the final in 2007 and 2008 also, losing to an Ipswich Town XI 8-0 and Needham Market on penalties respectively. They lost to Lowestoft Town in 2016 3-1 in the final but have had two good trips out to Portman Road in the last two seasons.

Woodbridge Town are currently in 4th position in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division. They have won 7 and lost 4 of their 11 league matches so far.
