U18's continue to set the pace at the top of the table;

Leiston knew that Framlingham Town would be a hard match as they were second going into the game. The match started with both teams trying to play decent football and it was Leiston who opened the scoring in the 7th minute. After the home side failed to clear the ball, Jac Garrard half volleyed into the net from a good 25 yards past home custodian Edward Goddard. Moments after Leiston went in front, Toby Groom crossed for Jac Garrard to control but he fired over the bar. Joe Murphy released Adam Blades who put a diagonal ball into the box but the ball evaded everyone and went out for a goal kick. Leiston’s second goal of the match came when Adam Blades gave the ball to Toby Groom on the right hand side who’s delivery was inch perfect for Adam Blades to meet at the back post to head into the net and double Leiston’s advantage. Two more good moves ended with Toby Groom crossing and Edward Goddard claimed well on both occasions. As the half progressed, Toby Groom put another inviting ball into the area and Ben Snowling smashed over when well placed. Adam Blades shot over the bar and Alfie Norman headed over, before Framlingham had there first attempt on target but Jamie Brooks headed straight at Charlie Beckwith from a corner. Charlie Coe tried his luck for the home side but saw his strike sail over Charlie Beckwith’s crossbar. With two minutes of normal time remaining of the first half, a long ball was well anticipated by Jamie Smith and he drove into the Framlingham Town penalty area to fire past Goddard.

Leiston began the second period like they had done the first and had their first chance when a good run by Adam Blades saw him tee up Ben Snowling but his shot was parried and Jac Garrard smashed over the follow up. Leiston’s fourth goal of the evening arrived when Jamie Smith notched his second after another good ball by Toby Groom. Adam Blades hit the target but Goddard saved and he was also equal to full back Carl Mayhew’s side footed effort. Centre back Charlie Canham got on the scoresheet again when he finished from Jac Garrard’s corner. Lukas Darling headed against the crossbar from another Jac Garrard delivery moments later, before the hosts pulled a goal back when Jamie Brooks finished well past Charlie Beckwith. Leiston had other chances to increase their lead through Owen Pierce, Adam Blades and Jamie Smith, while Charlie Beckwith saved well from the lively Jamie Brooks. There were no further goals and Leiston now enjoy a week off before travelling to Hadleigh United next Wednesday (15th).
