The U18’s recorded their third draw in succession on Thursday as they still search for that elusive first victory in the league.
The first half started even, with both teams looking dangerous going forward early on and both keepers had to make good saves. Leiston took the lead on 18 minutes. A good move involving Owen Pierce and Witness Mhango released Josh Leggett whose original shot was saved but he calmly slotted in the rebound. As the match wore on Harry Eyre, Owen Pierce, Josh Leggett and Zac Gissing went close for Leiston. The hosts hit the woodwork twice and Brandon Ling made two excellent saves in the Leiston goal. In the final few minutes Leiston came under pressure, and conceded in the 90th minute from a good header. The team were disappointed not to hold on, but can take great heart from a performance that contained five under 16’s.
