Four out of four for the U18's

Leiston came into this match looking for their fourth league win in a row, whereas Stowmarket Town were playing just their second match of the season having drawn with Walsham le Willows the previous week.

Toby Groom had the first chance of this match but his header went over the crossbar in the early stages. Leiston were passing the ball around well and after a good team move, Alfie Norman smashed over. A good run by Stowmarket's Lockwood ended him chipping the ball over Beckwith but his effort trickled wide of the post. Stowmarket were coming more into the match and took the lead in the 17th minute when Peachment was left unmarked from a free kick to smash a volley past Charlie Beckwith in the home goal. In fact, Stowmarket could have doubled their lead, but Liam Swann steered his effort wide. This seemed to kick Leiston into life and after an attack into the Stow penalty area, Toby Groom's fierce strike smashed the crossbar. Leiston levelled seven minutes before the break when Toby Chenery finished well after a good cross by Hayden Ling. Ben Snowling, Charlie Canham and Hayden Ling all had other decent efforts before the interval but the teams went in level at half time.

Leiston could not have got off to a better start in the second half as Lukas Darling's pin point cross was put in by Owen Pierce. Toby Chenery then turned the away defender but his shot was off target. It became three when a good team move that involved Toby Groom, Ben Snowling and Toby Chenery ended with Owen Pierce shooting excellently past Hicks. Pierce was involved in goal number four as he did well to win back a ball and released Ben Snowling who played in Toby Chenery to finish and kill off the threat of Stowmarket. Toby Chenery was in again three minutes later to delicately dink over Hicks. Owen Pierce and Toby Chenery had further chances, but it was Toby Groom to net number six with a deflected shot off a defender into the keeper's bottom left hand corner. Ben Snowling got in on the act when he got behind the away defence to force Hicks into a good save but the re-bound fell kindly to him and he made no mistake to make it seven. Emmanuel Ali finished well from a free kick and it saw him produce an excellent celebration, before Charlie Canham rounded off the scoring for the evening when he curled home from the right hand side of the area. The final action of the evening saw Owen Pierce curl an effort over the bar.
