Eighth placed Leiston dropped two more points in their quest for a play off place with second bottom VCD Athletic collecting a valuable point in their battle to stave off relegation. The visitors were left to rue a host of missed chances none more so than four minutes from time when Gareth Heath saw his penalty saved. The Kent side opened the scoring on 17 minutes, Browne skipped past three attempted tackles before finding the net. Leiston got themselves level six minutes before the interval thanks to a Francis goal and the Leiston winger grabbed his and Leiston's second nine minutes into the second half. The lead lasted only seven minutes as Reeves levelled for the hosts. There was a frantic finale to the game with a red card, disallowed goal and a missed penalty. Man of the Match Joe Francis went down in the box from a challenge from home keeper Blue with the visitors half expecting a red card. But no cards were brandished and then Blue saved Heath's resultant spot kick. Amazingly VCD quickly broke and had the ball in the Leiston net only to see it ruled out. The home side ended the game with ten men after Bokcui received a second yellow card for a foul on Francis but Richard Wilkins side had to settle for a single point.
