The Blues hope to play their first game for 10 days tomorrow evening when Bromsgrove Sporting visit in league action. Leiston have remained in 7th position for the last few weeks and will be looking to do the double over Bromsgrove after defeating them 4-0 on the opening day of the season last August. Leiston went ahead through Dylan Switters free kick after just two minutes before Will Davies and George Quantrell made it three before the break. After keeping the Bromsgrove attack at bay well in the second period, Leiston added a fourth near the end as Will Davies glided with the ball in his own half before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 25 yards.

Bromsgrove are currently in 16th place, five points above the relegation places with 31 points from 28 matches so far. Leiston will have Joe Marsden missing (1 match ban for a red card) and they will also be without Adam Bailey-Dennis who serves the last of a two match ban for two red cards this season.

This will be just the third time the sides have met in their history. Apart from the fantastic 4-0 win at Bromsgrove in August 2021, the Blues went down 8-0 in November 2019. This is the club’s heaviest defeat at Step 3.
