Darren Eadie and Chris Wigger’s Blues side get ready for Bromsgrove Sporting tomorrow evening as the season’s end approaches. A good point was gained at AFC Rushden & Diamonds at the weekend, with Jake Hutchings (2) and Will Davies on target in a 3-3 draw.

Bromsgrove are fourth from bottom (18th) and are still in relegation trouble but they did win 1-0 at home to Redditch United at the weekend to ease their worries. With third from bottom potentially going down (2 of the sides finishing third from bottom in the four leagues will go down), Bromsgrove sit six points above Biggleswade Town and nine above Lowestoft Town with games now running out. The Blues, meanwhile, are still in 7th position but there are teams now hot on their heels as the team looks to finish the season strongly. They can now look forward to a Suffolk Premier Cup final on Thursday 21st April after Stowmarket Town withdrew from the competition after they played ineligible players in the Blues 3-0 semi-final defeat last Thursday at Needham Market FC.

Leiston beat Bromsgrove 4-0 on the opening day of the campaign back in August of last year. A brilliant first half saw the Blues net through Dylan Switters, Will Davies and George Quantrell before Davies scored from long range late on in the second half to finish off a superb performance.

Bromsgrove have visited the Watson & Hillhouse Victory Road Stadium just the once, and won 8-0 back in November 2019. In fact, the sides have only ever met twice in their history as the Blues won 4-0 back in August this season as previously mentioned.

Club captain Seb Dunbar will make his 300th club appearance for Leiston tomorrow evening. Seb first joined Leiston in the summer of 2012, and played in the Blues first ever game at Step 3 in a 1-1 home draw with Cray Wanderers on the opening game of the 2012/2013 season. Seb has since had spells at Bury Town and Stowmarket Town. He was voted in the Ryman Premier team of the season in 2017/2018 at left back and helped win Leiston back to back Suffolk Premier Cups in 2018 and 2019.
