The Blues host Hednesford Town on the final day of the regulation season tomorrow afternoon.

Tuesday’s defeat to Needham in the Suffolk Premier Cup means that the Blues suffered back to back defeats for the first time since the end of August last year.

Last weekend’s defeat to Tamworth was just the Blues fifth defeat in the league this campaign. After midweek matches, Leiston will definitely finish third and host either Nuneaton Borough or Rushall Olympic in the semi-final of the play-offs on Wednesday evening.

Coalville Town and Tamworth will contest the title on the final day, with Tamworth ahead of Coalville by two goals on goal difference.

Hednesford Town meanwhile are already relegated, along with AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Bedford Town and Kings Langley.

The Blues won 3-1 in the Midlands when the sides met last time in November. After a goalless first half, two goals from Ben Fowkes and a last minute Will Davies strike saw Leiston win 3-1.

Hednesford Town won the FA Trophy in the 2003-2004 season while the reached the FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying in 1996-1997. They beat Southport, Blackpool and York City before going out to Middlesbrough 3-2 in the Last 32.

The Reserves play their final game tomorrow as they head to Cambridgeshire to face FC Parson Drove. A win could see them finish fourth from bottom, while if FC Parson Drove win, the side will finish second from bottom.

The side went down to Heacham at home on Tuesday night 2-1, good effort against a team who will win the league tomorrow providing they are victorious in their last match.
