Leiston visit Barwell tomorrow afternoon in yet more league action. Leiston’s point on Tuesday night at AFC Sudbury leaves the side in 16th place in the division, with Barwell 14th at present, having lost 2-1 at home to Mickleover last Monday evening. Barwell defeated Rugby in the FA Cup earlier in the campaign before going out to Bromsgrove Sporting 2-1 in the next round.
Leiston now have ten points from as many games but will draw confidence from their first half display at the MEL Group Stadium on Tuesday night. Ross Crane’s strike out Leiston ahead but Reuben Swann made sure Sudbury had a share of the spoils as the sub levelled half through the second half.
Last season, Leiston won on their first ever visit to Barwell on a cold Monday evening in February, with the Blues coming away with. 3-2 victory. Ben Fowkes netted two while Will Davies also got on the scoresheet. The Blues won the home fixture in April this year, with Fowkes and Davies on target. The Blues had lost all their other three previous times, and hadn’t even scored a goal at Barwell until last campaign.
