MEET REAL BEDFORD
REAL Bedford were formed in 2002, merging Bedford United and US Valerio together.
Bedford United were founded in 1957 while US Valerio was formed in 1985 as a Sunday side.
When the two teams merged in 2002, they took Bedford United’s place in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League, under the name of Bedford United & Valerio.
However, at the end of the 2004/2005 season, they finished second from bottom and were relegated to Division One.
The changed their name again in 2006, to Bedford Valerio United, while a year later in 2007, they changed their name to Bedford.
Peter McCormack, bitcoin podcaster, took over the club in 2022. Their name changed to Real Bedford. The club won promotion to Division One Central of the Southern League. Last season saw them finish as champions of Division One Central, resulting in promotion to the Premier Division Central.
