LEISTON ended their 2025/26 campaign as they began it, with a draw, in their final match of the season.
The Blues took at point away from Alvechurch, Adam Mills netting Leiston's goal in the 1-1 stalemate. It was Mills' 11th goal of the season and the Blues 15th draw of the campaign.
Mills struck in the 15th minute from a free kick 20 yards out, the Blues impressing in the first half.
However, home captain Kristian Pearce levelled for the home side nine minutes from time as Alvechurch came more into the game, a draw a fair result.
It left Leiston in 10th place in the Southern League Premier Division Central table, a good achievement, with a decent 63-point haul and an even more impressive eight wins on the road.
Blues boss Chris Wigger named the same XI who drew with Spalding the week before, with Liam Shaw coming into the 16.
It was a pleasant day for football and although both teams were only playing for pride there was plenty of competitiveness about the game.
Leiston attacked early, Willie Clemons winning a free kick, before the Blues took the lead in the 15th minute. Another free kick to the Blues saw Mills step up and thump the ball home under the diving Alvechurch 'keeper Redman Evans.
Alvechurch had the ball in the visitors' net on 19 minutes, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Leiston continued to enjoy the better of the half as they went in at the break ahead.
The home side were much more on the front foot in the second period. Jessy Bavanganga shot straight at Johnson in the Leiston goal and Pearce had a shot that was saved by Johnson.
There was always the chance a home goal was coming and so it did as Pearce, playing his final game for the Club after more than 500 career appearances, from the Championship to the Southern League, nodded home at the back post with nine minutes left.
