OVERVIEW
The Blues head to the Midlands on Saturday to face Stourbridge in their fourth league game of the season, writes Craig Cooper.
Leiston sit 10th at present while Stourbridge are 5th, having won both of their league games to date, a 2-0 win at home to Stamford followed by a 2-1 success at Peterborough Sports.
Chris Wigger could have Cameron Rayworth involved after the Blues player played in the Under 23’s midweek home game against Coplestonians on Tuesday night.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS AT STOURBRIDGE
LEISTON have won just once in their previous six visits, that came in February 2024 when two late Joe Marsden’s goals helped Leiston win 3-1. But overall, it not a happy hunting ground for the Blues. They will look to put that right this weekend.

ABOUT STOURBRIDGE
Stourbridge comes under the county of Worcestershire, whilst their Metropolitan County is the West Midlands.
The town is located on the River Stour and is around 10 miles from Birmingham.
Stourbridge is well know for it’s well known glass production, which began in the early 1600’s. Hence the team's nickname 'The Glassboys'.
Stourbridge is a Fairtrade Town. This means it supports fair trade products. The Stourbridge Farmers' and Craft Market happens twice a month in Clock Square. In the summer, Mary Stevens Park often hosts live music events.
Johnny Briggs, the actor who played Mike Baldwin in Coronation Street, was born in Stourbridge, along with the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant. Snooker star Ronnie O’Sullivan was born in Wordsley hospital in Stourbridge. Footballer Jude Bellingham, whose Dad Mark played for Stourbridge and cricketer Dean Headley were also born in the town.
Stourbridge were founded in 1876, and were known as Stourbridge Standard for 149 years.
They reached the Third Round of the FA Cup in the 2016-2017 season, beating Northampton Town in Round Two before losing 2-1 at Wycombe Wanderers in the next round. Stourbridge lost out to Spennymoor Town in the play-offs and were denied promotion that season.
They also reached Round Two of the FA Cup in 2011/2012, 2013/2014, 2015/2016 while they made the First Round in the 2009/2010 and 2019/2020 seasons.
Last season, Stourbridge came 15th in the Southern League Premier Division Central.
