Leiston lost their final match of the season as they went down 3-1 in a first ever visit to Redditch United. The result means Leiston finish the season in 19th place. Stuart Boardley gave a first league start to Charlie Canham at right back while Matt Blake and Dominic Docherty came back into the starting eleven.
The day got off to a bad start with Redditch netting the first goal after just six minutes as Michael Nelson scored past Marcus Garnham. In the 14th minute, Garnham was adjudged to have fouled Luke Yates in the penalty area but Garnham got up to save to his right hand side from Josh Hawker's spot kick. The home side added a second goal in the 27th minute through Leam Howards as he tucked the ball away past Garnham from just eight yards as the Blues struggled to get a foothold in the game against the wind.
After the interval Leiston played better with half time substitutes Matt Rutterford and Christy Finch looking sharp when they come on. Leiston did create some half decent chances but it took until the 71st minute to pull a goal back as Redditch skipper Andrew Parsons put the ball past keeper Reece Francis for an own goal. With seven minutes of normal time remaining, Harry Knights looked to have won the ball but Referee Greg Rollason pointed to the penalty spot and sub Jack Downing scored the resultant kick.
