Leiston head to Staffordshire tomorrow afternoon to face Hednesford Town in league action. Hednesford are currently 10th in the division while the Blues slipped to 6th in midweek, a place and two points outside the play-off places.

Chris Wigger and Darren Eadie will be keen to put in a good performance tomorrow after two disappointing defeats on the road at Coalville Town and Bishop’s Stortford respectively the last two weekends.

This will be the Blues first ever visit to the PRG Stadium and a only a third ever meeting between the two sides. In November 2019, Glen Driver’s first game back in his third spell at the club saw the Blues go down to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Hednesford in Suffolk. In September this campaign, goals from George Quantrell and an 85th minute Will Davies effort saw Leiston come back from an early goal to win 2-1. Hednesford started the season well and were in the play-offs early on but like Leiston haven’t performed as well as they did early on in the season recently.

After tomorrow, Leiston host Rushall Olympic next weekend before welcoming Stratford Town to the Watson & Hillhouse Stadium, Victory Road, on Tuesday 14th December. Leiston finish off 2021 with an away trip to Lowestoft Town on Monday 27th December in a 3pm kick off.

The Blues Reserves visit Bildeston Rangers in the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup 2nd Round, in a 1.45pm kick off. The Reserves are still 13th (out of 16 teams) in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North. Bildeston sit in 10th position at present in the Macron SIL Senior Division.
