Young Blues side progress to next round of Suffolk Senior Cup with convincing win over Bramford United

Leiston Reserves progressed to the 2nd Round of the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup on Saturday after an 8-1 victory over Bramford United at home.

Albert Serra Parrondo and Sebastia Pons Llado were given game time in the Reserves while Tom Woerndl continued at left back.

The visitors nearly took the lead in the first minute of the match but Leiston cleared the danger and then dealt with a couple of more attacks early on from the away side. Jourdan Kiwomya blocked a clearance from Bramford keeper Justin Hembury but the ball rolled out for a goal kick. Leiston did take the lead in the 10th minute. Sebastia Pons Llado threaded through a ball to JOURDAN KIWOMYA and he rounded keeper Hembury to net the Blues’ opener. The second goal came five minutes later. A move down the left hand side from Leiston was centred to the back post where it was fed back to HARRISON BACON to finish into Hembury’s bottom right hand corner. Sebastia Pons Llado set up Albert Serra Parrondo who fired over shortly later. Joe Potter didn’t deal with a free kick from Bramford but Leiston dealt with the danger. In the 22nd minute, HARRISON BACON’s excellent run enabled him to dribble past a defender and slot home past Hembury to score the Blues third and effectively finish the tie. JOURDAN KIWOMYA was brought down for a penalty and the same player got up to convert the spot kick well. The Reserves got their nap hand in the 38th minute as HARRISON BACON headed home from close range to score his hat-trick. The Blues continued to play well but there would be no further goals before the break.

Ben Morling came on in place of James Gaffer at half time. The second half was only three minutes old when HARRISON BACON beat the offside trap and his deft finish went into the corner of the goal. Bacon and Kiwomya were then substituted and replaced by Owen Andrews and Thomas Leuenberger respectively. Sebastia Pons Llado tried his luck from long range for the side but hit the crossbar. Roman Greenland shot over for Bramford as the visitors never gave up. Leiston scored a seventh goal when Albert Serra Parrondo crossed to the back post and SEBASTIA PONS LLADO was on hand to tap home. Captain KIERAN MANDELY did score for Bramford with fifteen minutes to play but Leiston finished off proceedings as SEBASTIA PONS LLADO picked up the pieces from a corner to strike past Hembury and seal Leiston’s passage into the Last 16. The Reserves now can look forward to a league match at home once again next weekend when Great Yarmouth Town visit.
