BLUES U23s get back to action on Saturday afternoon, after not having a game for two weeks, as they head to Lincolnshire to face Holbeach United.
The U23s are in 17th place in the Thurlow Nunn North Division One table, although they have three games in hand on Haverhill Borough who sit in 18th place. Some of the young Blues players have also been boosting the ranks of the first team in recent weeks, which is the pathway the club are developing nicely.
Holbeach, meanwhile, are in seventh place, five points off the top five. They have lost just twice in their last ten league games and it will be the first meeting between Leiston and Holbeach this season.
The U23’s have a busy month ahead as they play six games in February. On Tuesday night, Neil Smye’s side host Stanway Pegasus before hosting Henley Athletic in Suffolk Senior Cup action next Saturday. They then head to Framlingham Town and Haverhill Rovers respectively before finishing off the month at home to Swaffham Town.
Meanwhile, two Suffolk Senior Cup ties will be played tomorrow afternoon. Tattingstone United host Haughley United while Trimley Red Devils entertain Mutford & Wrentham. As well as the Blues game with Henley Athletic next weekend, Whitton United are at home to Bungay Town.
