LEISTON showed two changes in the starting line-up from the last home game against Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers, Daniel Gee replaced Marcus Mayhew in goal and Stan Horne came in for the suspended MacKenzie Travis.
Marcus in turn was replacing the suspended Billy Johnson in the 1st team at Stamford. One change on the bench saw Keagan Hoque replace Elliott Young.
An excellent diving save high to his right to turn a fierce shot over the bar by Daniel Gee was the highlight of the first half which otherwise provided little else by way of action.
Half Time: U23s 0 – 0 Henley Athletic
The second half provided little better entertainment especially for the few home faithful as it was the visitors who had the majority of the play without creating too many clear cut chances.
The chances they did create generally came from set pieces which caused the home defence into some desperate goal line clearances. Indeed it was from one such situation when a cross from the right failed to be cleared that the visitors won the game in the 3rd minute of added on time. Added on time that was for the most part brought about the nine substitutions in the 2nd half.
