OVERVIEW
Leiston U23s entertain fourth-placed FC Peterborough on Saturday as they try and bounce back from their 2-1 loss at Gorleston Reserves last Saturday, writes Craig Cooper.
The Blues had won their two games previously before last Saturday’s game, defeating both FC Parson Drove (6-4) and Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers (3-1).
Goalkeeper Jack Beresford was sent off for a challenge deemed as last man last weekend, so defender Billy Jordan took over in goal.
Ewan Parlett then gave the Blues U23s the lead before the hosts battled back with goals two from substitute Samuel Wooldridge.
The U23s are still only two points behind Wivenhoe Town, with a game in hand, and still have to play the Essex club at home in the final week of the campaign.
FC Peterborough are well-placed in the league and look set to take their place in the end of season play-offs.
FC Peterborough drew 1-1 at home to Wroxham Reserves on Wednesday night. They have taken 56 points from their 30 league games so far.
