LEISTON Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Kyle Callan-McFadden.

The 30-year-old Irish defender joins the club from King’s Lynn.

A former Republic of Ireland international at U17, U19 and U21 level, Callan-McFadden, has also made a couple of appearances for Norwich City and more than 100 for Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Blues and is already looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m delighted to be joining Leiston,” he said. “I live reasonably close to the area and know a few of the players in the squad. It’s a club I have been keeping an eye on for a few years now.

“After speaking to the manager and his team over the last week or so, it’s something I’m excited to be part of, and hopefully I can help the young lads develop, along with bringing success to the Football Club.”

Blues boss Chris Wigger admitted to being delighted with his new signing.

“Kyle is a player I’ve admired for some time,” Wigger said.

“He was Lynn’s supporters’ player of the year last year and will be a terrific addition to the squad with regards to the experience he brings, playing National League and playing abroad, and the fact he comes into a side with young players coming into the squad this year.

“Kyle is a footballing centre-back whose distribution and calm presence on the ball will be fantastic for us.”

All at Leiston FC welcomes Kyle to the club.
