Rayworth, who turned 20 this month, forced his way into the first-team squad last season with a string of accomplished performances – and his reward is a two-year deal with Leiston.

“I’m really grateful and excited as I’ve been working hard to get into the first team since joining Leiston at 15,” Rayworth said.

“I’m now realising how far I’ve come and developed as a player since being in the youth set-up at this club. It’s special playing every game I’m involved in.

“The whole first-team squad and management have made me feel welcome from the start. That has helped me to be confident and able to express myself on the pitch.”

Rayworth signed dual registration forms with Ipswich Wanderers of the Isthmian North league back in October, before returning to Leiston where he began to make regular appearances in the first team.

Blues Director of Football, Dave Williams, said: “Cameron had a fantastic second half of the season. He showed a level of consistency we had not seen from him before. His development has been fantastic, aided by our entire management team.

“We are delighted to have him sign his first contract with us.”
